ka’ek al quds

ingredientsrecipe: ka’ek al quds

  • 2.5 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 6 cups multipurpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup nondairy milk (for brushing)
  • 8 ounces roasted sesame

mix wet into dry, let rise for an hour.
divide then let rise for 15 minutes
roll balls into logs then shape into ovals
brush both sides with nondairy milk then coat with sesame seeds, flaky salt, and black pepper
cover and let sit on baking tray for 30 more minutes
bake for 15-20 minutes at 450, broil for a bit if you’d like to brown the top
